New Concrete Swimming Pool with Crazy Paving Terraces.

Situated in Bonalba Golf, Alicante, the property boasts a balcony with uninterrupted views of the golf course.

The plasn was to build a new Kidney Shape swimming pool, in front of the villa.

To excavate the pool, we craned a digger over the fence, and the soil was then removed by breaking through the old picket fence and loading it directly onto the truck.

Once the dig was complete, we prepared the walls and metal framework, after which the pool was constructed using Gunite – a concrete spray system. This method, popular in Spain and especially across the Costa Blanca, involves spraying pre-mixed concrete onto the prepared surfaces. Once cured, it forms a monolithic, highly robust structure.

Previously, the villa was surrounded by gravel, but our intention was to pave the area around both the pool and the house. We showed the clients examples of projects where we had used natural stone “crazy paving”, which greatly appealed to them.

Beneath the terraces, we installed a rainwater drainage system, incorporating gutters and drains. At each corner of the property, a drainpipe was fitted for the roof. Around the roof tiles, we installed a continuous aluminium gutter so that, during rain, water is channelled directly from the roof to the street below – thus preventing the garden from flooding and protecting the stability of the terraces.

The outdoor pool needed to make the most of a corner of the garden, making a kidney shape the ideal choice. With its gentle curves and lack of sharp angles, this design is particularly attractive. The pool steps are also rounded, and the coping stones in a cream shade match the natural stone of the surrounding terrace.

For the pool terrace, we used premium stone sourced from Tarragona, Catalonia. We no longer use the traditional white coping stones or Greek-style mosaic borders within the pool. Nevertheless, as the stone is beautifully smooth, when finished with cream-coloured grout, the result is modern and pristine, despite the rustic feel.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_image src=”https://test2.eurobuild.es/wp-content/uploads/f-3b.jpg” show_in_lightbox=”on” _builder_version=”4.16″ animation_style=”fade” border_color_all=”#ffffff” box_shadow_style=”preset3″ box_shadow_blur=”13px” global_colors_info=”{}”][/et_pb_image][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.24.1″ custom_padding=”0px||0px” global_colors_info=”{}”]

Another noteworthy aspect of the project was the construction of an outdoor shower and toilet. With only side walls and no roof, the arrangement – shower to the right, toilet to the left – helps keep the house clean, as guests do not need to walk through to use the facilities.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_slider show_pagination=”off” _builder_version=”4.16″ height=”326px” animation_style=”fade” auto=”on” border_color_all=”#ffffff” box_shadow_style=”preset3″ box_shadow_blur=”13px” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_slide _builder_version=”4.16″ background_image=”https://test2.eurobuild.es/wp-content/uploads/ba-4_nb.jpg” global_colors_info=”{}” sticky_transition=”on”][/et_pb_slide][et_pb_slide _builder_version=”4.16″ background_image=”https://test2.eurobuild.es/wp-content/uploads/trio-1-1.jpg” custom_padding=”0px||0px” global_colors_info=”{}” sticky_transition=”on”][/et_pb_slide][/et_pb_slider][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.24.1″ custom_padding=”0px||0px” global_colors_info=”{}”]

By moving the slider below, you can see the transformation this project has achieved – comparing the “Before” and “After” states.
